Purchasing a Greyhound ticket is not only affordable, but also convenient. We offer five easy ways to purchase tickets:

  1. Buy Tickets Online. We currently offer a variety of advance purchase and unrestricted fares, including student, senior, children's and military fares. Tickets can be sent by mail or purchased for pickup at the terminal using our Will Call service. Print at Home Tickets are currently available at selected routes across Canada with continuous expanding availability of this service (Canadian credit card required). A Canadian credit card and mailing address are required for our Tickets by Mail service. If you select the Will Call option, the credit card number entered on the Web site must match the number on the card.
  2. Buy tickets over the phone. Greyhound customers can purchase tickets by phone using Canadian credit card. Call 1-800-661-8747.
  3. Buy tickets at a Greyhound terminal. Greyhound operates terminals nation-wide where tickets are sold. You can purchase tickets for travel weeks in advance or for the next bus available. Greyhound accepts cash and traveler's cheques, as well as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Interact and Diners Club cards.
  4. Buy tickets at a Greyhound agency. In addition to our major terminals, Greyhound offers ticket services at independent agents across Canada. These locations accept cash and traveler's cheques and most accept major credit and debit cards. We do not accept personal or company cheques or money orders.
  5. Buy a ticket for someone else.
    • Prepaid Ticket Order (PTO). To purchase and send a ticket for someone else in another city, a Prepaid Ticket Order (PTO) is available at major Greyhound terminals nation-wide.
This ticket is transferred from one bus station to the other, under the following criteria:
      • The buyer pays a non-refundable service charge at time of purchase, regardless of number of tickets purchased
      • Tickets may not be sent outside of Canada.
      • Both stations must be open at the time of transaction and ticket pick-up
      • Buyer and recipient should allow three hours from time of purchase to departure time to complete the transaction
      • Appropriate ID or a password is required to pick up the ticket
      • Only the purchaser may cancel the ticket or apply for a refund (as long as ticket is a refundable fare).
      • The recipient has 30 days from the date of purchase to pick up the ticket in Canada and 10 days within the US.
      • When purchased in person, the purchaser may also send with the ticket a cash advance up to one-half of the ticket price (cash advance not to exceed $50CDN).
      • Some discounted fares are city-specific and are not available for purchase at all locations. These fares are available for purchase as PTOs at all locations by calling 1-800-661-8747.
      • When purchasing in person, cash, debit or credit card acceptable as forms of payment where applicable.
    • Gift Ticket Orders (GTO) are available for purchase on this Web site. GTO allows you to purchase a ticket online for another person. This ticket is delivered to the departure bus station, under the following criteria:

Types of Tickets

  1. Will Call tickets allow you to purchase a ticket online and then pick it up at the terminal/station counter. If the credit card holder is traveling on the trip, present the credit card used for purchase, the reference number (displayed after purchase), and valid photo ID. If the credit card holder is not traveling on the trip, the reference number and valid photo ID are required to pick up tickets. You also can create a password for the traveler to use as ID. A non-refundable fee (plus GST) will apply if the credit card is not presented at the counter or if the cardholder purchasing the ticket is not traveling on the trip.
  2. With Tickets by Mail, tickets purchased online are delivered by Canada Post. Upon arrival at the terminal/station, you can proceed straight to your bus. There is no need to check-in at the terminal counter. In order to provide adequate time for the delivery of Tickets by Mail, the tickets must be purchased a minimum of 10 mailing days prior to date of travel. Mailing days are days on which Canada Post is delivered and excludes the day of purchase, Sundays and holidays. There is a non-refundable service charge (plus GST) for all Ticket by Mail orders.
  3. With Print at Home Ticket service, book your ticket online, print your return or one-way ticket from home and proceed straight to the gate.
